IT'S A SHAME (M8 #184 - July 2004)
Once agaín M8 shínes the spotlight on qualíty house music from Italy, this time from the very cool Equal Records label.
T-Jam was formed in 1993 by composer and producer Franco “FunkyFrank” Selleri. Franco is a keyboardist and organist and for this track he has collaborated with a host of different musicians and singers to produce what is an extremely popular club tune.
With the aim of composing an original soulful dance track and recording it live, Frank used the classic Shirley & Company's “Shame, Shame, Shame” as the inspiration for this original gospel house record. It uses the Shirley track's chorus as the basis of its own central gospel chorus and includes the spoken word of the American born Reverend Lee Brown. He now lives in Frankfurt and has been touring Europe for years as the “Reverend Lee Brown & The Freedom Family” gospel group.
It was whilst touring that he met the song’s main vocalist gospel singer Lara Luppi. Lara has already made four CDs with the Freedom Family and has collaborated with T Jam for several years. With a background in jazz and rhythm and blues and experience of singing in live halls and theatres, she more than complements the voice of the Reverend. The track has been remixed by Luis Radio, a native of Rome whose passion for soulful house has been evident in all his productions.
Summer house music is looking and sounding pretty damn good.

Pete Williams, senza tralasciare i prossimi remixes di "What is" di Luis Radio & Darryl D'Bonneau. E stavolta ce n'è davvero per tutti i gusti. (Franco Martinelli)
